Hi there! I had a great time at your school, and I think you’ll really enjoy reading Watch Out! when it comes out in August. Tell your teacher that only the King Cobra is in the book, but there are lots of other cool animals in the book too. Happy Reading!
Hello, Ginjer. I am in fifth grade and I am obsessed with you. I have loved writing since I was a little girl. I wrote when I had nothing else. I have wanted to be like you ever since I saw your site. You are an amazing author and I would like some tips. You came to dare elementary on Friday and I was the one who asked for your e-mail in case you don’t remember me. I would love a reply. Thank you
Ginjer, I love your books and I have loved to write since I was a little girl. This book was particularly my favorite. I was wondering if you had any tips for fiction books. I would love some tips from you because as I was reading your books, I was astonished and you would be a great coach. You came to dare elementary and I was the one who asked for your email. I would love a reply. If you have any tips they would be awesome. thanks
Hi there! I had a great time visiting your school last week, and I’m so glad that you enjoy reading my books. My tips for writing fiction would be the same as for nonfiction. Try to use the best descriptive and action words that you can think of. Also, writers do something called “show, don’t tell,” which means that instead of TELLING your readers that your character is sad, try SHOWING them what this really means. For example, is your character sobbing and flopped on the floor or just tears in her eyes and her head in her hands? Think about what your characters look like and imagine them as real people when you tell your stories. I do this even with animal nonfiction so that I can picture the action and write it to you as if it’s happening right in front of me. I hope that helps, and I wish you lots of fun playing with your writing. Take care. –Ginjer Clarke
This book is awesome. It is one of the best books ever.
Hi! I’m so glad that you enjoyed reading Watch Out! I had a great time visiting your school yesterday, and I hope you had fun too. Happy Reading! Ginjer Clarke
By the way can you even do books ? in mythology animals?Plus this book was sooo creepy!
Hi, Sunny! I’m so glad that you enjoyed my book Watch Out! I guess creepy is good, right? So far I have only written about animals that are proven to be real, but I’m interested in stories about unicorns and where they come from, so I might write about that mythical animal soon. Thanks for writing to me, and happy reading to you! Ginjer Clarke
this book looks soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo awesome
i hope you comment back soon
What kind of snake is that??
Can you write about the most recently found animals?
Hi, Lauren. I agree that newly discovered species are fascinating. I definitely have mentioned some of these animals in a few of my books, but because this science is always changing, it might be difficult to write a whole book just on this topic. I encourage you to do some research of your own though since it’s a really cool topic. I hope you enjoyed the program. Thanks for writing to me and happy reading to you! Ginjer Clarke
Hi, Ryan. That’s a king cobra on the cover of Watch Out! You’ll have to read the book to learn more about it (or do some research on your own). I hope you enjoyed the program. Thanks for writing to me and happy reading to you! Ginjer Clarke
Hi Ginjer, my name is Bella. I am 7 years old and love your book “The Fascinating Animal Book For Kids”. My Daddy and I read your book together and our favourite page is with the Asian Giant Hornet. Please can ask, what is you favourite animal, and have you been to every country? Thanks x
Hi, Bella. I’m so glad that you’re enjoying The Fascinating Animal Book. I think kids who also love the scary and weird animals are extra cool. My favorite animal is the African elephant. That’s why I began the book with fun facts about them. I haven’t traveled all around the world. That would take a long time and a lot of money! I do my research (learning about the animals) by reading tons of books and websites, watching interesting nature shows, and then writing to and talking with scientists who study the animals. I did just get to go to Costa Rica to learn about the rainforest, and the howler monkeys were amazing—-and so so loud! Happy reading to you, and thanks for writing to me.
