As I explain in my Baby Otter book, young river otters are sometimes unsure about getting in the water, because they don’t know yet that they will be good swimmers. The mother otter helps them out, but she sometimes has to give them a firm but gentle push. Check it out!

Hi, Tori. I’m glad you enjoyed the otter video. It looks like the mom isn’t very gentle with her baby, but she knows how important it is for him to learn to swim. I agree that the otter cub is so cute and fun to watch. Hope you like my otter book too!
